San Jose State tennis (9-2, 1-1 MW) swept Nevada (6-5, 1-1MW) 4-0 on Sunday in its second-conference game securing another home win.

Spartans’ senior Irena Muradyan had a very impressive game winning the first singles point of the match and winning the doubles with her freshman partner Cheuk Ying Shek.

“It was amazing being able to put us on the scoreboard,” Muradyan said. “I’m very proud that I could do it today.”

The other SJSU doubles win came from freshman Duru Durgun and senior Rozalina Youseva in a very close 7-5 victory.

Their victory came just in time after Nevada’s sophomore junior duo Marlene Foerster and Léa Cakarevic defeated SJSU seniors Carolina Millan and Jovana Babic in an impressive doubles comeback 8-6.

With this win, the Spartans still remain undefeated at home now with seven home wins.

“They took care of business,” SJSU head coach Chad Skorupka said. “We did not have practice before this match so it was really good to get here.”

The Spartans look to take care of business again and keep their winning streak going as they are scheduled to host Hawaii at noon on Wednesday at the Spartan Tennis Complex.
