San Jose State baseball (2-5) dropped it’s fifth game of the season against Stanford (3-5) with a final score of 9-4.
SJSU got on the board early in the top of the first inning when senior shortstop Theo Hardy would score on a throwing error.

San Jose State’s pitching was in a rut allowing Stanford’s batters to rack up 14 hits on the game. The Cardinal offense featured six players with multi-hit games.
SJSU junior Caden Duke was the starting pitcher for the Spartans. Duke (0-1) would be credited with the loss after lasting just three innings and surrendering four runs on four hits.
The Spartan’s bullpen also had a rough outing as freshman Tyler Albanese would come in and give up two runs on six hits in 2 2/3 innings of work.
Redshirt senior Corey Sanchez would struggle on the mound allowing two runs on three hits in just one inning out of the bullpen.
SJSU stranded nine runners on base and redshirt senior outfielder Robert Hamchuk would strand five runners on base himself batting out of the leadoff spot. Hamchuk would hit 1-5 with three strikeouts.
Hamchuk, who has been one of the team’s best hitters over his career, is off to a slow start on the season. Hamchuk is currently batting .207 (6-29).
