San Jose State women’s basketball (6-19, 1-12 MW) suffered its 11th straight loss on the road to Fresno State 74-59.

The Bulldogs (13-14, 6-8 MW),  shot well from behind the arc, making 64% of their three-pointers to complement their 47% field goal shooting against the Spartans.

Fresno senior guard Deajanae Harvey dropped 21 points and shot an impressive 80% from three.

Bulldogs freshman forward Kylee Fox followed behind Harvey, scoring 15 points and shooting a flawless 5-5 from downtown.

It’s safe to say that the Bulldogs lived by the three on Saturday.

“Adversity has hit us this season with the injuries,” SJSU head coach April Phillips said in a video posted to X by SJSU Athletics. “We’ve got seven available.”

They had only eight healthy players going into the game and seven by the end of the game due to freshman guard Syndi Summers third quarter exit.

The Spartans shot fairly decent shooting 47% from the field, 33% from the three-point line and 92% from the charity stripe.

Even though the Spartans are feeling the effects of these injuries, they are refusing to let these losses discourage them.

“I am proud of our team and how we are choosing to respond to adversity,” Phillips said. “That is going to go a long way.”

Spartans guard Sabrina Ma led the way for her team with a double-double scoring 18 points with 10 of them coming from the free-throw line and a career-high of 12 rebounds.

SJSU trailed by only four at the end of the first quarter, but Fresno State pulled away scoring 23 points in the second quarter.

The Spartans played a good second half outscoring the Bulldogs 33-30, yet it was not enough to make up for the Bulldogs explosive second quarter.

They now look to host Utah State, Wednesday at 7 p.m. with a victory in mind.
