SJSU women’s volleyball will take on Fresno State on Oct. 26 after its four-game losing streak.

The Spartans (11-12, 2-8 MW) recent losses include New Mexico (3-1), Air Force (3-0) and Utah State (3-0).

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs (12-9, 6-4 MW) have been on a strong run recently with a four-game winning streak going against San Diego State 3-2, UNLV 3-0, Colorado State 3-2 and Wyoming 3-0.

SJSU’s lineup has impressive players who play a key role in the team’s performance.

Freshman Nayeli Ti’a and Junior Brooke Bryant secured nine kills each for the Spartans against the Air Force. Senior Jiana Lawson led her team with three blocks and contributed with seven kills. Also, Freshman Laurel Barsocchini added three digs for the team.

SJSU has a history of success against Fresno State. Last year, the Spartans won against Fresno State 3-2 in their last meeting, along with another win 3-0 against Fresno State last year.

In its last match, SJSU fell to Air Force 3-0. In their recent game against New Mexico, despite achieving a season-high 57 kills, they lost 3-1. To bounce back in their next match against the Bulldogs, the Spartans will need to focus on securing points early and maintaining a significant advantage throughout the game.

SJSU women’s volleyball will take on Fresno State at the Save Mart center on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 6:00 p.m.
