The women’s golf team had an impressive showing in the second day of the Mountain West Championship, led by My Leander who finished the day two shots under par.
San Jose State moved two places up the leaderboard after finishing two over par as a team. They scored a 290 in Round 2 compared to a 297 in Round 1.
Abegail Arevalo finished the back-9 one under par, good for the second best score on the team behind Leander for the second consecutive day.
Leander was two under par entering Round 2 of the tournament, and did not have a single bogey during her play on the courses back-9. She is tied for second for her individual record in the tournament.
The Spartans are currently eleven over par for the tournament, trailing San Diego State at plus-2 and UNLV at plus-1.
Each of the individual players need to have an immaculate outing tomorrow if they want to move farther up in the standings.
The tournament will continue tomorrow as the final round is played out.
