The San Jose State women’s softball team (16-13) traveled to Moraga, Calif. to play against the Saint Mary’s College Gaels (10-15) Wednesday afternoon.
The game started relatively slow for both teams during the first two innings, as both teams were getting a feel for one another.
It wasn’t until the bottom of the third inning, where SMC drew first blood on the Spartans with two runs.
The dry streak would continue for the Spartans during the fourth inning, but an opportunity arose amongst SJSU during the fifth inning as the bases were loaded.
Senior third baseman Alyssa Graham would step up to the plate to try to secure the Spartans a run and hopefully an advantage. But that opportunity came and went as Graham failed to record a hit.
The game finished 2-0.
The Spartans were unable to snap their three-game losing streak adding one more loss to their tally.
SJSU will be back home on South Campus to play the Fresno State Bulldogs April 1 at 3 p.m.
