Preview: Spartans Vs. Thunderbirds

By Kassandra Zeldon – Writer

San Jose State men’s football plays its first game of the season against the Southern Utah Thunderbirds this Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Spartan football team had to put a halt towards the games because of the pandemic but now they are back for their opening start.

SJSU in the past however, had no trouble as they won against UNLV 34-17 two years ago as shown in past statistics.

San Jose has some hot weather on Saturday, which brings hope that the Spartans can keep their cool and prevent the other team from winning in the heat.

Saturday is shaping up to be SJSU’s game.

The Spartans pose a big threat through their senior strength and experience with 26 seniors on their roster.

The Thunderbirds have mostly young members with only 8 seniors on their team.

Southern Utah have been struggling, with last season’s statistics showing their total is 159 points and their opponents 164 points about average.

The Thunderbirds seem as though they are currently on a losing streak, and it looks like the Spartans may turn that into a habit.

Something exciting for the fans to see as Covid put a halt to sporting events. It’s exciting to see how everything will play out this year with everything opening back up.

The game at CEFCU Stadium at 7 PM.
