The Spartans’ offense was shut down by the UOP defense. SJSU was only able to muster up five shot opportunities and only two of those were shots on goal.

On the other hand, UOP had one too many looks at the net, as the Tigers had 19 shot attempts with seven of those being shots on goal.

In the first half, SJSU was able to keep UOP off the board by keeping them away from the post. The Pacific Tigers were only able to muster up five shot attempts in the first half, two of them were blocked by Spartans’ goalkeepers and three of them were off the mark.

SJSU offense only had two such attempts in the first half with one of those attempts being blocked by UOP junior goalkeeper Brenna Crump.

The defensive prowess of the first half Spartans changed in the back half of the game as SJSU allowed a goal to be scored within seven minutes of the second half.

UOP junior midfielder Hunter More scored her third goal of the season and her first since Sep. 10 which was a game-winner that came against Dixie State.

While SJSU attempted to mount a comeback, the mountain would grow taller with Pacific freshman midfielder Aniela Jensen scoring a dagger on a right kick which pushed their lead to 2-0.

Freshman goalkeeper Autum Monty had her hands full all afternoon with the flurry of offensive pushes by the Tigers.

The Visalia, CA native secured five saves in the loss against UOP.

SJSU will go up against Air Force University on Friday, September 24 at 6:00 p.m. USAF Academy, CO, as they look to snap their current skid.
