It has been a rough start for the Spartans as they hit the road to Reno for their first away game of the season.
San Jose State women’s soccer (0-3) is looking to get lucky against the University of Nevada, Reno (0-3) on Friday.
Both teams are on a three game losing streak with one is hoping to turn their season around soon.
The Spartans haven’t lost to Nevada since the 2014 season, so history will be on their side come game-time.
But SJSU’s offense has to find a way to get more shots on goal.
Senior defender Karlee Pottorff was the closest to bagging a goal in the team’s 3-0 loss against UNLV on Sunday, but her shot was too high.
To get on the scoresheet, the Spartans will have to get the ball past the Wolf Pack’s junior goalkeeper Kendal Stoval.
Stoval had six saves out of the nine shots faced in their match against Boise State on Sunday.
Nevada’s sophomore forward Gabby Brown and freshman forward Olivia Fothergill will be looking to put goals on the board Friday.
Brown and Fothergill had each one successful shot out of two, but it wasn’t enough as they fell to Boise State 3-2.
The Wolf Pack’s two forwards will go up against SJSU’s junior goalkeeper Zoe Aguirre.
Aguirre started in her second game of the season against UNLV and had six saves from the nine shots faced from the Lady Rebels.
The first kick will be at 6:30 p.m. in Nevada’s Mackay Stadium and broadcast on the Mountain West Network.
