The Spartans women’s tennis team registered their third consecutive win this season by defeating the visiting University of San Francisco Dons 4-3.
In a tough hard-fought battle the hosts sealed a convincing win.
Doubles
SJSU won all the three doubles matches against USF.
Rozalina Youseva and Savannah Sendar of SJSU defeated Mya Bui and Mushika Chiho of USF 6-0.
Spartans Alba Pedrero Galindo and Lara Marco Mas defeated Arianna Capogrosso and Rita Colyer 7-6 in a challenging match.
SJSU’s Tamara Culibrk and Irena Muradyan defeated USF players Caragh Courtney and Maria Martinez Vaquero 6-4.
Singles
Spartan players struggled in their singles matches losing three of the six played, but they fought hard to remain victorious in the end.
SJSU junior Alba Pedrero Galindo defeated Mya Bui of USF in straight sets 6-1, 6-0
Although sophomore Rozalina Youseva fought hard, but she lost to Maria Maritnez Vaquero in straight sets 6-4, 6-3
Freshman Irena Muradyan defeated Rita Colyer in straight sets 6-1, 6-4.
Chiho Mushika of USF defeated Spartan senior Savannah Sendar in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.
Spartan Tamara Culibrk played the toughest three set match against Dons Arianna Capogrosso, but lost in three sets 5-7, 6-1, 6-2.
Lara Marco Mas claimed victory against USF’s Caragh Courtney in three sets 6-2, 6-3, 6-3.
The Spartans are set to take on Santa Clara University at Santa Clara Saturday Feb. 27.
