The San Jose State’s women’s basketball game scheduled for Dec. 8 against UC Irvine has been canceled in compliance with the emergency order issued on Nov. 28 by the Santa Clara County Public Health Department.
New social distancing restrictions for COVID-19 have paused all high-level contact sports, which resulted in the first San Jose State women’s basketball home game against UC Irvine this season against the University of San Francisco to be canceled this season.
Saturday’s game was supposed to be SJSU’s second home game. For the Spartans, this means for the next few weeks they won’t be able to play at Provident Credit Union Event Center.
As of now there has not been any announcement of a possible reschedule for canceled games this season. The postponement set by county officials is set to possibly end Dec. 21.
