Emma Milne may be just a freshman, but she is already rewriting the history books for San Jose State gymnastics.
The Spartans won their second straight duel meet as they defeated Seattle Pacfic University by a score of 194.900 – 191.925 in Seattle on Friday night.
In just her seventh meet as a Spartan, Milne set the school beam record with an astounding 9.925 in the final rotation of the night. This was Milne’s second beam title of the season.
She broke the record which was held by eight Spartans which include her teammates Taylor Chan and Chelsey Andrada. Milne’s previous career best was a 9.850 on January 18th in Alaska.
The beam team scored a 49.100 which was the second time this season that SJSU has scored a 49.000 or higher on the beam. Milne’s score led the team followed by Andrada who scored a 9.850.
SJSU started the night on the bars. The Spartans scored a 48.550, led by freshman Jada Mazury with a 9.800. Then they moved to vault where the Spartans scored a 48.375.
