San Jose State baseball (9-6, 3-3 MW) returns home to face the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (11-7, 2-1 MW) for their third conference series matchup.
The Rebels are coming to Municipal Stadium with a three-game win streak and a ton of confidence.
Junior pitcher Cameron Jabara will likely be the Game 1 starter for the Rebels. He comes into the weekend with a 0.64 ERA in 28 innings pitched.
SJSU will be turning to its Friday night guy Andrew Mitchel. The senior pitched a complete game last week and earned himself a career-high 18 strikeouts and Mountain West Pitcher of the Week honors.
The Spartans offense struggled on Tuesday in a non-conference matchup against Cal Berkeley. To beat UNLV, they will need to get their offense back to early pre-season form.
UNLV will look to junior shortstop Bryson Stott for offensive leadership. The Las Vegas native is leading the team in batting average (.403) and home runs (5).
The Spartans lead the MW with 80 walks and 19 hit batters. If they can tidy up those areas, they will find success this weekend.
The three games are scheduled at Municipal Stadium for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, at 6 p.m, 2 p.m and 12 p.m.
