Volleyball looks to extend win streak to four vs UNLV

San Jose State volleyball hosts UNLV Saturday as it aims for its fourth straight win.

The Rebels (16-8, 7-5 MW) are currently tied for third place whereas the Spartans (12-10, 7-6 MW) are tied for fourth.

Earlier this season, the Rebels defeated the Spartans in a 3-1 match. SJSU has only been able to beat UNLV twice in its last 10 meetings, so it will be a tough team to conquer.

Momentum has been picking up for the Spartans as they continued their winning streak on Thursday night against New Mexico.

The Rebels pulled off a 3-2 win in their Thursday match against Nevada. It should have been a much easier victory, as the Wolf Pack sits last in Mountain West with only one conference win.

Spartan senior Luiza Andrade has been having a phenomenal season since the first match of the season and has been collecting record-high digs continuously.

Redshirt junior Fernanda Vido has also been a top player for the team as she leads the team with 206 kills in 75 sets.

If SJSU can win this match it will jump up on the Mountain West standings while keeping its streak alive, a true turnaround for the team.

After this match the Spartans will only have one more home match against Air Force to finish off the 2018 season.

The match starts at 2 p.m. in the Spartan Gym.
