San Jose State volleyball continues on the road as they visit Boca Raton, Fla. to compete in the Florida Atlantic University Owl Classic starting Friday.

Coming off good momentum from a 3-0 tournament sweep, the Spartans (4-2) are look to repeat in the Sunshine State.

The Spartans are set up for three matches starting with North Florida on Friday morning.

Although SJSU has a winning record through six games this season, all the other competitors have played in over nine matches.

The most difficult team for the Spartans will be the second match on Friday against host Florida Atlantic (6-3).

The two teams last faced back in 2007, where the Spartans took the victory. FAU is on a six-match winning streak and looks to keep it going throughout its home tournament.

On Sunday to close out the tournament, SJSU will face South Dakota State (2-8), who the Spartans also beat the last time they met in 2014.

Strong players to look for on the court this weekend are senior Fernanda Vido and freshman Haylee Nelson.

Vido was the tournament’s most valuable player last weekend and Nelson is currently ranked fourth nationally for her hitting percentage of .469.

SJSU is currently on a four-match winning streak, and it will be interesting to see how long the winning can continue.

The first match starts at 7 a.m.
