San Jose State’s tennis team (8-2) will face Sacramento State (2-7) for the first time in two years on Friday to put its four game winning streak to the test.

The last time the Spartans battled the courts with the Hornets, the Spartans won 5-2.

Coming off a sweeping win over the Cal Poly Mustangs, the Spartans are expecting a more challenging match against the Hornets.

“Sacramento State is a tough team. We are looking for the match on Friday. Looking forward for a great battle,” said head coach Chad Skorupka to SJSU Athletics.

While the lineup is not yet official, undefeated singles player, freshman Savannah Sendar (7-0) should face No. 6 Hornet Carolina Chernyetsky who has a 1-4 singles record.

The undefeated doubles pair Sendar and senior Sybille Gauvain (3-0) may battle the Hornets Carolina Chernyetsky and Ana Loaiza Esquivias (2-4).

First serve is at noon.
