The San Jose Barracuda gave up three goals on nine Bakersfield Condors power plays, leading to a 4-1 loss to the division rivals Friday night.
Playing from behind for the entire game cost the Barracuda their fourth straight road loss to end an unsuccessful road trip.
Late in the first period, right wing Zach O’Brien put the Condors on the board giving them momentum heading into the second period.
Seventeen seconds into the second frame, Alexander True tied the game for the Barracuda. The Condors responded in the end of the second period with two more goals past Barracuda goalie Antoine Bibeau making it 3-1.
One more goal was scored in the third period which secured a 4-1 victory for the Condors.
Special teams has to be a focus heading into the final stretch of the season or there may be no postseason hopes. San Jose are now dead last in the Pacific division with a record of 22-22-3.
The Barracuda will return home to SAP Center to face the Condors once again on March 2 at 11 a.m.
