It was a shutout 3-0 game win for the San Jose Barracuda as they went against the Calgary Flames’ affiliate, the Stockton Heat, for the second of eight games this season.
The ‘Cuda (21-17-1-2) concluded their six-game road trip with a visit to Stockton (20-16-2-3) Friday night and finished their time away from San Jose 4-1-1.
Fresh off his time spent at the NHL All-Star Weekend, left-wing forward Rudolf Balcers returned to his team with a bang, scoring the first goal for SJ and his 30th point of the season.
Proving to everyone just how much he earned his place with the All-Stars, Balcers came back to score again — this time in the second period — giving the ‘Cuda their second goal of the night.
Wasting no time after Balcers goal, right-wing forward Filip Sandberg scored to set the Barracuda at 3-0 where things remained stagnant to end the game.
San Jose goaltender Antoine Bibeau may have been a star of the game, but he was a brick in the net with 30 saves for the night.
The ‘Cuda were not only controlling the game tonight but killing the penalties as well with four PKs thanks to tempers flaring, a hooking call and goaltender interference.
February marks the month that San Jose will see most of its rival this season with three more games scheduled against the Heat.
Stockton visits SAP tonight at 7 p.m. looking to take back the win.
