In another chance to showcase his talents, San Jose State senior forward Jeremy Romero will participate in the PATH2PRO soccer combine on Jan.19-20 in San Francisco.
The Path2Pro Soccer combine gives players the opportunity to be seen and scouted by multiple professional soccer clubs. The combine features clubs from all different levels and leagues like the MLS, USL, NASL, and NSPL.
The San Jose Earthquakes, LA Galaxy, Portland Timbers and Kansas City Sporting are teams who frequently scout at Path2Pro Soccer combine.
This season, Romero started all 21 matches, playing 1,364 minutes for the Spartans. He led the team in points with 20, and his 10 goals along with 20 shots on goal also tops the team.
He scored two game-winning goals this season, once against Saint Mary’s and another in an upset win over No. 12 Air Force in the WAC Semi-Finals.
Regarded as a WAC All-Conference snub, Romero finished top ten in five out of the major eight individual statistics. The Hercules native ranked sixth in points, seventh in points per game, fourth in goals, fourth in goals per game and second in game-winning goals.
In his two season with the Spartans, Romero was more than productive. He will leave SJSU after making a big presence in 40 matches resulting in 2,492 minutes.
He finished his Division I collegiate career with 28 points and scored 14 goals with 36 shots on goal alongside five game-winning goals.
Several players who have attended the Path2Pro combine have gone on to sign contracts with professional clubs. Seth Casiple, Jake Ward and Russ Klabough all attended the combine and signed with Reno FC.
