San Jose State volleyball lost to Boise State 3-0 on Wednesday night in Boise. Each set was close, but the Spartans (17-10, 9-7 MW) could not clinch and were swept by the Broncos (15-13, 8-8 MW).

It was a tough start for SJSU at the beginning of the game. The team took a while to get on the scoreboard then struggled to catch up to Boise State.

However, the Spartans fought back and came within two points of the Broncos during the middle of the set, but ended up falling 25-23. This was the closest SJSU would get to winning a set.

For the second set, it was another close back and forth game until the 10-point mark. This was when Boise State dominated the second half of the set and beat SJSU 25-18.

In the third set, SJSU started strong scoring four of the first five points. After that, however, they gave up nine consecutive points.

The Spartans fought back and scored multiple consecutive points to get the score up to 14-12 in favor of the Broncos. While they were able to keep the score within three for the most of the match, the Spartans ultimately fell 25-20 at the end.

SJSU sophomore Thaliana Grajeda led the team with 10 kills and redshirt freshman Laura Parts came in second with eight.

For assists, senior Breann Robinson led with 34. She also got one ace during the match.

While this was a disappointing trip for the Spartans, they will have one last chance at home to end the season with a win. It is also going to be a special game where they honor all of the graduating seniors.

The next and last match of the regular season is Saturday at 2 p.m.at home against Utah State.
