San Jose State men’s basketball marked milestones despite an 88-78 loss to the University of Wyoming Cowboys.

SJSU junior guard Colby Garland moved up to seventh all-time in SJSU points and senior forwards Sadraque NgaNga and Yaphet Moundi celebrated their senior day.

Garland made his mark in Spartan history, scoring 24 points and five assists against the Cowboys.

Garland’ consistency has led to some of the best statistics of his career. This game was his 10th straight 20-point game, the longest streak for a SJSU player since the 1996-97 season he also leads the teams in assists per game.

“He’s a go-to guy and he can go out and get you six or eight assists,” SJSU head coach Tim Miles said. “He’s a creator, and he’s a bona fide bucket.”

Along with Garland’s record-setting game, NgaNga made his 23rd start of the season and possibly his final start at the Provident Credit Union Event Center. He is averaging 7.3 points and four rebounds per game this season.

NgaNga started his career at Boise State University, transferred to Seton Hall University, and spent his final two seasons in San Jose.

“I think he’s really grown up and knows the game better,” Miles said. “He went in the portal and decided to stay. I think that shows a lot about his willingness to do right and be a good player and leave a legacy.”

Moundi started the season strong, playing in 13 games and averaging 12.5 points and grabbing eight rebounds per game. The big man hasn’t played since Dec. 30, 2025, due to injury.

Throughout Moundi’s healthy stretch, he made his presence known as one of the Spartans’ best rim protectors and rebounders.

The Spartans will move on to the postseason against No. 5 seed Boise State in the Mountain West Tournament at the Thomas & Mack Center on March 11 at 2:30 p.m.
