San Jose State’s women’s golf wrapped up play at the Stanford Intercollegiate with a 54 hole total of 889 (+37) to finish 17th in a competitive 19 team field at the Stanford Golf Course on Oct. 19.
Freshman Regina Roldan led the Spartans with a consistent week, finishing tied for 60th at 221 (+8) after finishing her third round with a 73, which included 10 consecutive pars to end her round.
Junior Moa Andersson followed closely behind, tying for 65th at 222 (+9). She matched Roldan’s final round at 73 and collected multiple birdies throughout the weekend to remain consistent throughout her weekend.
Freshman Ting-Yu Chang finished tied for 71st at 223 (+10). She opened the event as SJSU’s top performer in round one with a 73 (+2) and finished her tournament with a 75 (+4) on Sunday.
Freshman Lotte Schuhr turned in the team’s best round of the final day, hitting at par with a 71 that featured three birdies, to climb the leaderboard and finish tied for 83rd at 227 (+14).
Fellow freshman Kleopatra Kozakiewicz also tied for 83rd at 227 (+14), highlighted by a strong finish with a 73 (+2) in the final round.
As a team, SJSU showed improved play on Sunday, shooting 290 (+6) its lowest round of the tournament.
“We played better today and we are looking to continue some good momentum as we head into Hawaii,” SJSU head coach Dana Dormann said.
The Spartans will continue their fall schedule at the Nanea Invitational in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, on Oct. 27–29, looking to build on their final-round momentum and continue developing their young roster.
