Her week was highlighted with her best collegiate finish, her fourth top-10 and collected 14 birdies over the tournament.
Just behind Andersson was freshman Kleopatra Kozakiewicz who also turned in an impressive performance, shooting back-to-back 68s before finishing third overall at 213 (-3).
Freshman Ting Yu Chang provided a late spark for the team, firing a four-under 68 in the final round to finish tied for 11th, including four birdies and 14 pars.
While freshman Lotte Schuhr shot a four-over 76 in the final round, tied for 40th, and freshman Regina Roldan tied for 61st at 232 (+16).
The Spartans shot a six-over 294 in the final round, which was enough to secure third place.
SJSU trailed Eastern Michigan (859, -5) by seven shots and Oregon State (863, -1) by three.
“We didn’t bring our best today, however there’s lots to learn,” SJSU head coach Dana Dormann said. “I’m very encouraged by how the team played overall.”
Up next, the Spartans will play on Oct. 6-7 in the Illini Women’s Invitational at Medinah, Ill., looking to learn from each performance and build on their success.
