It was a top three outing for the majority of the tournament for the Spartans until the final day. They were six over par through two days, and hit +15 on the final round of the tournament.

Sophomore Moa Andersson set the tone early, sitting atop the leaderboard with three other golfers with a -3 through the first round.

Another solid outing in the books for senior Lucia Lopez Ortega, who placed in a five-way tie for 14th place. Her tournament was highlighted by a strong second round, going two under par.

Normally, San Jose State starts slow and finishes strong. A similar result in Monterey, but reversed.

They have their eyes on a Battle of the Bay match against top-ranked Stanford on Feb. 25 at the CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, Cali.
