SJSU baseball’s bats were hot as they secured a big 12-3 road victory against the University of San Francisco (16-27, 7-17 WC).

Sophomore Nathan Cadena got the scoring started for the Spartans (23-22, 15-11 MW) with an RBI single in the first inning.

Later in the third inning, Cadena would hit another RBI single putting SJSU up 4-0.

In the top of the seventh, Cadena helped SJSU bring in its seventh run of the game with a sacrifice fly.

Two innings later, Cadena hit a home run to left field to cap off his outstanding performance, going 4 for 4 with four RBIs and hitting his second home run of the season, arguably his best performance as a San Jose State Spartan.

Cadena set season highs today in hits and RBIs for a single game.

Senior Jack Colette also had a great offensive game, getting the offense going by driving in SJSU’s first run with an RBI single in the first inning.

He continued his impressive performance in the seventh inning, hitting an RBI double to bring in SJSU’s sixth run of the game.

Colette topped it off in the ninth with another RBI single, going 3 for 5 with three RBIs today. He has now recorded a hit in eight of his last nine games.

Junior Hunter Dorraugh also joined in on the fun, hitting his seventh home run of the season in the top of the ninth inning. Dorraugh now ranks second on the team in home runs and RBIs.

Junior Ethan Ross was terrific on the mound, throwing five strong innings and allowing just one run while recording eight strikeouts today. He earned his second win of the season.

Ross has pitched a total of 10 innings, striking out 17 batters from USF and giving up just three runs.

In the two meetings between the Spartans and Dons this year, SJSU has outscored USF 35-5.

San Jose State beat San Francisco earlier this year in a 23-2 win on March 7. SJSU has now won four consecutive games against the Dons since 2022.

Next up, SJSU baseball will hit the road for a three game series against the University of the Texas Longhorns this weekend.
