The SJSU softball team (23-25, 11-10 MW) secured a spot in the Mountain West Softball Championship after its shutout victory against Utah State (17-26, 8-13 MW).

“It is what our goal has been all season long is to get ourself into that championship series and to go out there and compete,” said head coach Tammy Lohmann.

The Spartans once again shutout the Aggies by a score of 9-0 after doing so on Thursday to a score of 2-0.

The Spartans have had a recurring theme in their past few games, with all of their runs being scored in a single inning. In their recent game, San Jose scored nine runs in the third inning.

Redshirt senior Jenessa Ullegue was the run leader for San Jose where she scored two runs and one RBI.

The RBI leader goes to Adrianna Noriega with two and she also score a run for the SJSU softball team.
