San Jose State joined former running back Tyler Ervin, inking a six-year deal with Adidas, unifying the school under one apparel logo.
This will be the first time each Spartan team will wear the same brand.
Ervin, now a member of the Houston Texans, signed an endorsement deal with Adidas just over a year ago.
SJSU is the first school in the Mountain West to sport Adidas uniforms, the second-ranked sports clothing/equipment brand in the world according to Forbes.
The new uniforms and equipment will worn beginning this summer and will be displayed by the fall sports teams.
The Spartans are joining several renowned Division 1 collegiate programs with Adidas partnerships, including the Louisville Cardinals, Texas A&M Aggies and Kansas Jayhawks.
In addition to Ervin, Adidas has deals with each of the big four sports leagues, and has contracts with multiple MVP-winning athletes: NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, MLB third baseman Kris Bryant, WNBA forward Candace Parker, NBA guard Derrick Rose and NFL running back Adrian Peterson.
The uniform switch is one of several changes to the athletics department of SJSU over the last year with the promotion of Marie Tutie, the hiring of head football coach Brent Brennan and the stadium name change following the Citizens Equity First Credit Union (CEFCU) $8 million deal.
