San Jose State continued to show dominance as it rolled to its sixth straight win and improve its record to 16-9 before beginning conference play next weekend.
The Spartans came out victorious in the two games they played today, defeating the University of Massachusetts 3-0 and UC Davis 4-2 at the UC Davis Tournament.
First baseman Madison Aurin had herself a day, sparking the Spartans offense in both games accounting for two hits, one run and an RBI in each game.
UMass made the morning game interesting by holding SJSU scoreless through the first three innings but in the end, the Spartans were too much to handle, scoring three runs in the final three innings.

The Spartans hit .417 with two outs throughout the game.
While UC Davis got out in front right out of the gate, the tournament hosts was unable to get back on the board until the sixth inning.
SJSU quickly responded with a run in the second inning, then put the game away in fifth and sixth innings with three runs.
Collette Riggs earned her third win of the season after holding the Minutewomen scoreless during her six innings on the mound.

Katelyn Linford came in as a reliever in the seventh inning and got the save for SJSU.
Linford then pitched a complete game against the Aggies, continuing to demonstrate why she is the Spartans’ ace on the mound.

She ended the day allowing two runs on five hits while striking out three and improving her record to 10-2.

The Spartans hit .308 with runners on base against the Aggies.

SJSU will look to sustain its momentum and extend its winning streak to seven against Iowa State tomorrow at 9 a.m.
