San Jose State women’s and men’s cross-country teams attended the 29th annual University of San Francisco Invitational, where a couple of SJSU’s runners put up impressive times at Golden Gate Park.

The men’s track team came in 13th place in the 8k with a score of 351. Although the team did not perform exceptionally well, freshman Kyle Galinis came in 61st place with a time of 26:38.3. With a score of 50 for SJSU, Galinis maybe somebody to look out for as the season continues.

In the women’s 6k, the Spartans came in eleventh place with a score of 329. Once again, although the team would like to score higher, a few runners from SJSU put up impressive times.

Junior Juliette Noyer came in 60th place with a time of 23:27.3, scoring a 48 for SJSU. Right behind her, freshman Constance O’Neal came in 64th with a time of 23:31.2 and scored a 52 for SJSU.

Of the last five runners to finish the race on the women’s side, three of them were from SJSU. Despite some good times, the team performances were not nearly good enough to compete with teams like Stanford or USF.

Both women’s and men’s cross-country will be preparing for the Pacific Collegiate Invitational on Friday, Sept. 30, at 5 p.m.
