San Jose State women’s basketball (4-16, 1-8 MW) is back on the road to face the University of Nevada Wolf Pack (13-7, 5-3 MW) this Wednesday in Reno, Nev.

The Spartans are fired up more than ever after snapping their 13-game losing streak last week against the Boise State Broncos in a thriller, 61-59.

SJSU fought until the end against BSU, taking the lead in the fourth quarter and never letting its determination die, leading to the victorious outcome.

Junior guard Ella Ogier was dethroned as the leading Spartan on the score sheet. Ogier scored 12 points, four rebounds, three assists, as well as two steals, making this her seventh consecutive double figure scoring performance this season.

Senior guard A’Tyanna Gaulden led the Spartans this game with 18 points, four steals and rebounds, as well as two assists.

Junior point guard Stephanie Torres also scored double figures with 16 points, one rebounds, one steal, and one assist.

Star senior forward Cyndi Lewis scored 10 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. This makes Lewis the fourth player to reach double figures this game.

Lewis’ hunger for a win led her to make a play blocking a shot, which ultimately ended the game and gained SJSU’s first win in conference this season.

SJSU and UN are facing a rematch after its last game Dec. 31st, when the Wolf Pack swept the Spartans in a gruesome game, ending 83-48.

Wolf Pack junior guard Da’Ja Hamilton and freshman guard Audrey Roden are the two players SJSU needs to keep a close eye on.

During the last game Hamilton scored 21 points, five assists, and one steal. Roden scored 16 points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal against the Spartans.

These two players alongside their teammates are a force to be reckoned with on the court. SJSU struggled to keep up with UN’s 50% shooting from the floor ultimately leading to the Spartans’ demise.

The Wolf Pack is currently facing a two-game losing streak after being bested by the Wyoming Cowgirls 62-53.

The Spartans have just broken their vile 13-game losing streak and are planning to keep alive the match lit within them to start a new winning streak. This rematch will determine if the Spartans will be changing the narrative about their MW season and come out on top this season.
