The San Jose State women’s basketball team (1-3, 0-0 MW) will be playing against the University of Pacific Tigers (2-1, 0-0 MW) this Saturday.
The Spartans are coming back after playing a ruinous game against Santa Clara University Broncos (3-0, 0-0 WCC) Wednesday night.
The Broncos came at full speed during the first quarter, instantly taking the lead and carrying it until the Spartans got the best of them in the third quarter, tying the game 46-46.
SJSU was not able to keep up the stamina and fell victim to the Broncos ending the game 67-58.
Senior forward Cyndi Lewis came out victorious this game with a career high of 24 points, four rebounds and one steal.
Senior forward Deja Ross managed a career high of seven rebounds and snagged a steal as well.
The Pacific Tigers are coming from Stockton, Calif. after defeating UC Riverside 78-65. The Spartans may have a bit of a challenge against the Tigers since they have the upper hand between the two teams when it comes to wins.
From a statistical point of view, both teams have a slight advantage over the other. SJSU finishes with an average 64 points versus UOP’s 76 points per game, SJSU’s 38.5 rebounds compared to UOP’s 36.3 rebounds per game, and SJSU’s 11.5 assists against UOP’s 17.7 assists per game.
The Spartans hope to bounce back and bring the momentum against the Tigers to end their two-game losing streak.
