SJSU women’s soccer gets trampled by Boise State

San Jose State women’s soccer was stomped on by Boise State Sunday afternoon.

There was clearly no love lost between the Spartans and Broncos today. Tensions rose as the game progressed and escalated to two red cards being handed out. Senior Spartan Karlee Pottorff received the red card on account for a physical and antagonistic game on her part.

Frustration was in the air for the scoreless game until the 75 minute mark when Boise State junior defender Macie Nelson buried the first and only goal of the game.

The star of the game was SJSU junior goaltender Zoe Aguirre, who was busy all day long with seven saves.

Exhaustion didn’t stop freshman Cynthia “Tiny” Flores from executing an unsuccessful bicycle kick that could have tied the game.

The Spartans next stop is Las Vegas as they go toe to toe with the Rebels in search of their first victory of the season Friday at 7 p.m.
