San Jose State quarterback Nick Starkel was one of eight quarterbacks named a Manning Award Star of the Week.
The Allstate Sugar Bowl-voted award is given to those who’ve had the best performance the past week.
Starkel’s game against Nevada earned him the award, securing the Spartans a spot in the Mountain West Championship.
Starkel completed 20 of his 30 passes for 306 yards with two touchdowns and one interception to lead the team to Friday’s win.
This season he’s thrown for 1,453 yards, 13 touchdowns, and four interceptions.
