Spartans hit the road to face Pac-12’s Colorado

San Jose State women’s basketball is up for a challenge as it hits the road to face University of Colorado on Thursday.

The Spartans (1-5) have not had the best start this season, where as the Pac-12 Buffalo (6-1) have only lost one game.

This season, the Buffalo are averaging 74.2 points per game so the Spartan defense is going to have to be prepared if they have any intention on making this a good contest.

Despite the current losing record, SJSU has made improvements in their game since its season opener.

Junior Fieme’a Hafoka is now in the wing position and her natural training has shown in the last couple of games. She’s also averaging about 15 points per game for the Spartans.

The Spartans are also making a national mark on their three-pointers made this season. Currently they are ranked 24th in three-pointers per game.

SJSU is coming off a loss against UC Irvine, but it was not a bad game on the Spartans’ behalf. They outscored the Anteaters in two quarters of the game.

Although the Spartan offense is improving, it’s going to be tested against the Buffalo. Playing a Pac-12 team could be what the Spartans need to step up their game.

Tip-off is at 6 p.m. in the CU Event Center.
