Junior forward Sadraque NgaNga stole the show during San Jose State basketball’s (1-3) 93-56 win over Life Pacific University (1-4).
NgaNga put up a double-double with a career high in points with 29 and a career high in rebounds with 12.
“We got some rest for some guys and we got some minutes for some of the guys that haven’t played as much,” head coach Tim Miles said in a video posted to the athletics website. “That’s important to do, you have to develop your depth.”
NgaNga also played a career high 25 minutes and shot 12-14 from the field.
Freshman guard Pasha Goodarzi and senior guard Steven Vasquez both made their season debuts with Vasquez scoring 6 points. Both of Vasquez’s baskets came from 3-point range.
Sophomore guard Latrell Davis was second on the team in points with 12 and he also grabbed three rebounds.
Junior guard Will McClendon got active on the boards with eight rebounds which was the second highest total on the team. He also scored seven points.
This was SJSU’s first win of the season and the last game of the Outrigger Rainbow Classic where they finished 1-2.
They will head back to Provident Credit Union Event Center in San Jose to take on UC Santa Barbara (2-0) on Sunday at 2 p.m.
