SJSU women’s swim fall to Fresno State

SJSU women’s swim (3-4 , 0-1 MW) drop to the Fresno State Bulldogs (4-3 , 1-0 MW) 117-172 on Saturday afternoon at the Fresno State Aquatics Center in Fresno, Califorina.

Spartans took on their conference rival Fresno State Bulldogs where the Spartans only took six events out of 17.

Senior Cali Rowland secured SJSU women’s swim its first event in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.54 and finished second in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:07.46.

Freshman Amelia Snyder took first in the 500 yard freestyle finishing with a time of 1:29.71, while Junior Alice Ciobanu came third in this event with a time of 1:32.05.

Ela Freiman finished first with a time of 2:11.51, and Freshman Luna Balbuena finished second in the 400 with a time of 2:16.71.

The Mountain West west championships are creeping, but first the Spartans will head to the Air Force Invitational next week on Feb 2-4. This will be the last meet before the Mountain West Championships.
