By Lindsey Boyd:
San Jose State (9-9) is headed back to Stockton, this time for an actual road game, after sweeping the Nevada Wolf pack over the weekend.
SJSU played seven tournament games in Stockton earlier this season.
It’s been 13 days since played the Tigers at Municipal Stadium — a game the Spartans won handily 9-2.
In the two weeks since the last matchup, freshman Kellen Strahm has continued his hit streak to 15 games and will look to keep the streak going.
Timmons is also gearing up to hit SJSU out of their 0-6 road rut. He had 2 RBIs in the first two innings, capitalizing on UOP’s poor pitching last time around.
Senior Michael Breen contributed 2 RBIs as well and helped start the Spartans off with an early lead.
Both Breen and Timmons went 1-4 in the game. Aaron Pleschner and Corey Olivet each had two hits and combined for three runs and an RBI.
The Spartans will eye their first road win against the Tigers, and then head off to Honolulu for four-game set.
The first pitch is scheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m. against University of the Pacific (8-10).
