San Jose State women’s beach volleyball (3-3) shut out Sacramento State (0-4) on Wednesday.
There were three Spartan duo’s who were buzzing against the Hornets.
The first pair, junior Haylee Nelson and sophomore Jaida Ward, picked up where they left off against UC Davis earlier this month, winning two sets: 21-13, 21-17.
Freshmen Abby Alvarez and Mia Schafe won their first match as a pair, 21-15, 21-19.
The third pair made up of sophomore Siena Brewster and freshman Letizia Cammillucci dominated in their sets 21-17, 21-0
On the other two courts, graduate students Calli Novak and Kiley Lingenfelter lost the first set but stormed back to win the match.
Sophomore Cheyenne Rice and junior Allison Pereira continued their winning ways, besting the Hornets in two out of three sets.
The Spartans are headed to Stanford to play four duals.
The first match will be played on Saturday against Grand Canyon University at 2 p.m. and then LMU at 4 p.m.
