Seneca Knight dropped a career-high 34 points as San Jose State men’s basketball lost to Nevada Saturday evening, 95-77.

Knight broke his recently-set career-high of 30 points, hitting 10 of his 22 field goal attempts and 11 of his 12 free throws.

It’s the sophomore’s second 30-point game of his career, the first coming in the Jan. 15 in loss at UNLV. Overall, Knight is eighth in the Mountain West in scoring at 15.8 points per game.

Richard Washington added 16 points on 4-of-9 shooting from behind the arc. The junior has found his stroke as of recently, shooting 40 percent from three since the start of 2020.

For Nevada (15-10, 8-5 MW), Jalen Harris scored 32 points on 13-of-23 shooting. It’s the Mountain West Player of the Year candidate’s fourth straight 30-point game, and he’s scoring almost 26 points per game against conference opponents.

The Spartans (7-17, 3-9 MW) haven’t won an away game since their season-opening win at Hofstra. They’re on a three-game losing streak, and have dropped six of their last eight.

The Spartans look to break their losing streak at home against Fresno State on Wednesday, at 7 p.m.
