Gymnastics fall short of three-peat, places second in MPSF Championships

Sophomore Taylor Chan became the fourth Spartan to win the all-around title as San Jose State placed second in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships in Seattle.

Air Force dethroned SJSU with a score of 195.725 while the team finished the meet with a season-best score of 195.450 points.

Sophomore Chelsey Andrada tied for third on vault at 9.800 and fourth on the floor with 9.875.

Seniors Kaprece Nadonza and Stephanie Relova, and sophomore Nikki Duggan all tied for seventh place on bars at 9.825.

On beam, freshman Tia Gin had the best finish for the Spartans as she tied for fourth with a 9.825.

With a season-high, the Spartans ranked the meet 11th all-time in school history. This became the third consecutive season with the team’s best team score coming in the last meet of the year.
