SJSU women’s golf once again achieved some more fantastic results, both as a team and individually — this time at the Illini Women’s Invitational hosted by Illinois. The tournament was held at the Medinah Country Club’s famous golf course located in Medinah, IL.

The Spartans finished in fifth place overall the first day with a final score of five strokes under par through 36 holes played.

On the second day, the women came in sixth place overall through the scheduled 18 holes. They finished with an overall score of three under par.

Purdue was the winner of the tournament by finishing the first day with an outstanding 19-under par. They completed the second day with even more efficiency, sinking a jaw dropping 27-under par as a squad through the final 18 holes.

Once again, it seems as if SJSU senior Abegail Arevalo can’t be stopped. She had another amazing outing and finished fourth overall the first day.

She was able to complete the first 36 holes of the tournament and was still sitting at an impressive six-under par.

Arevalo finished the second day of the Illini Women’s Invitational in fourth place overall again. She was able to roll in an even better score this time at eight under par, once again displaying the dominance she showed at the Coeur D’Alene Collegiate Invitational.

The Spartans will tee off again at the Stanford Intercollegiate, which will take place over a three day period starting on October 19 and ending on October 21. The Stanford Intercollegiate will take place in Stanford, California.
