A hard-fought battle led to San Jose State (9-12) taking a 5-3 loss against Boston (10-5).
The Spartans and Eagles were neck and neck until the end of the fifth inning when Boston took over and San Jose just had no response.
“Those three runs in the sixth just put a dagger in it and we just went flat,” head coach Tammy Lonmann said.
Both teams had great performances from their defense, but struggled at the plate with only 13 hits total.
With two hits, an RBI, and a run Aubrie Thomas was a star player tonight for this team.
”I definitely think we out hit them which is always a win,” Thomas said. “We just need to execute better.”
The Spartans left nine players on base while the Eagles only left three.
“I think this team is really good at wiping it,” second baseman Reina Zermeno said. She had two hits and a run tonight being one of the key scores for the Spartans.
