SJSU men’s soccer (1-0-1) looks to start undefeated in regular season play, as they take on an undefeated counterpart, USF (2-0).
The Spartans are looking to keep momentum on their side after coming away with a win against UC San Diego on Sunday after an amazing second half goal from Josh Redfield.
The Spartans won’t have an easy task, as USF has only allowed one goal in its first two games this season.
Similar to the Spartans, the Dons have had three different goal scorers in two games this season as both teams tend to create shot opportunities for their players. The Spartans have had 10 shots on goal so far this season and this will create a fast paced offensive match.
“I spoke to Chris the coach and we both think it’s gonna be a great game … it’ll be a good one Thursday night,” said Coach Simon Tobin.
Goalkeeper David Sweeney is a big factor in the upcoming game. Sweeney helped the Spartans to stop a potential break away goal with 10 minutes remaining in their previous match in a 2-1 victory over UCSD.
The Spartans take on the Dons on Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Spartan Soccer Complex.
