Highly Anticipated SJSU vs Boise State Game Canceled

By Ryan Carlson — Executive Editor

The San Jose State at Boise State football game has been canceled due to an uptick in Coronavirus cases within the Bronco program.

This is the second week in a row that a SJSU opponent has had to cancel due to COVID-19 cases. Last week Fresno State had to cancel its game at home against the Spartans.

The Spartans traveled to Boise on Friday and woke up on gameday expecting to play on the blue turf, to find out that the game had been canceled.

“We arrived in Boise on Friday and learned this news Saturday morning. Our players and coaches were looking forward to this game with great anticipation. It is a big disappointment to everyone that we are not able to play this game,” said San Jose State University Athletics Director Marie Tuite.

As of now there is no intent to reschedule what was going to be a nationally-televised contest on Fox Sports.

The Spartans next game is on Dec. 5 at home against the Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors at 1:00 p.m.
