The San Jose State Rocket League team (13-7) was able to get another win this week, beating Wichita State (8-10) on Wednesday 3-1 in Electronic Gaming Federation group play.

Riding the momentum from their 3-0 win against Manhattan College on Wednesday, the Sparatns were able to keep the Shockers at bay.

Each of the four games were close, with each score being by no more than a 2 goal margin.

The Spartans got a close 2-1 win in game one. After Wichita State was able to win the second game, SJSU stormed back and was able to win the next two games. Giving them the win in this best of five series.

Team captain Daniel “DD” Warda was happy with the team after the win.“The last few weeks have been for all of us in terms of classes,” Wardo said. “With that in mind, we took today’s match really relaxed, and played really well as a result.”

With the win, the Spartans now own a 13-7 record.  This puts them at 10th overall out of 25 teams. With only two games left against Rochester Institute of Technology and University of North Dakota, the Spartans are looking to win out and grab a higher seed in the playoffs.

“It felt good, we definitely could’ve played better but we are all busy with school,” Johnny “ItJohnny” Lopez said. “Definitely happy with the W though.”

With the end of the regular season for the Rocket League team in sight. The team is surely a shoo in for the playoffs considering their record.

You can catch the team playing on Wednesday against RIT at 5:50 p.m over on EGF’s Twitch page.
