The Battle for the Valley rivalry between San Jose State football and Fresno State will continue after the Bulldogs leave the Mountain West for the Pac-12.
The universities announced a six-game series on Tuesday:
Sept. 19, 2026 at CEFCU Stadium
Sept. 25, 2027 at Fresno St.
Sept. 29, 2029 at Fresno St.
Oct. 2, 2032 at CEFCU Stadium
Sept. 24, 2033 at Fresno St.
Sept. 9, 2034 at CEFCU Stadium
“It was important that we maintained the Battle for the Valley rivalry to our fans, players, and staff, and this series allows us to do that,” athletic director Jeff Konya said. “Both Fresno State and San Jose State know how important these rivalry games are, and we look forward to taking on the Bulldogs in the foreseeable future.”
The Spartans and Bulldogs will play as conference foes for the final time in 2025. The two schools first met in 1921.
Fresno State leads the series 45-39-3 and also has won the Valley Trophy six times compared to San Jose State’s five.
“I think there’s great wisdom in (Konya) doing that, to create some natural hometown rivalries, in state, close by,” head coach Ken Niumatalolo said. “We are all excited.”
